Affiliate Dashboard - Concept Project

Introduction

In today's fast-paced digital economy, affiliate marketing programs play a pivotal role in driving customer engagement and conversions. As a designer, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive affiliate dashboard for [Company Name - NDA protected], designed to empower affiliates by providing actionable insights, seamless navigation, and tools to optimize their performance. This case study highlights my process and approach to delivering a mobile and web-friendly dashboard tailored to user needs, specifically in a sleek dark theme.

User Persona

Sarah Johnson, an affiliate marketer, is focused on optimizing her performance and maximizing earnings. Her primary goals include tracking performance metrics and earnings effortlessly, accessing detailed analytics for informed decision-making, efficiently downloading and sharing marketing assets, and communicating with support seamlessly for quick issue resolution. However, she struggles with understanding complex dashboards, finds financial tracking overwhelming without clear visuals, and requires a mobile-friendly interface to manage tasks on the go.

Problem Statement

Affiliates needed a platform to efficiently track performance metrics, manage earnings, and access tools for their campaigns. The previous solution lacked clarity and ease of use, leading to frustration and inefficiency. The goal was to create an intuitive, mobile-first design that addressed these issues.

Process

The project began with stakeholder discussions to define priorities, followed by iterative design using wireframes and prototypes. The focus was on creating a user-centered interface with a clean, dark theme for optimal usability and aesthetics.

Overview

  • Key Features: Snapshot of total earnings, conversions, clicks, views, and social conversions.Link-wise breakdown to identify high-performing assets. Time filters (Yearly, Monthly, Quarterly, Weekly) for data analysis.
  • Design Decisions: Used data visualizations (charts and graphs) for quick insights. Incorporated color-coded metrics for better readability.

Payment Details

  • Key Features: Transparent breakdown of earnings (Total, Paid, Pending commissions). Monthly payout tracking. Clear commission structure: 5% for first-time bookings, 1.5% for repeat customers. Payment method management (Bank transfer).
  • Design Decisions: Created progress bars to visualize pending payments. Simplified navigation to payment information with clear CTAs.

Analytics

  • Key Features: Performance metrics: Clicks, Conversions, Views. Traffic source analysis and geographical performance.Campaign insights for better targeting.
  • Design Decisions: Used interactive graphs for detailed drill-downs. Designed filter options to refine data by source, region, or campaign.

Marketing Assets

  • Key Features: Quick access to shareable links and villa catalogs. Downloadable resources for marketing campaigns.
  • Design Decisions: Organized assets into categories for faster retrieval. Included a preview feature to view assets before sharing.

Account/Setting

  • Key Features: Profile management and password updates. Payment information and logout options.
  • Design Decisions: Focused on simplicity and security, ensuring easy updates.

Communication Center

  • Key Features: Real-time chat with the customer support team.
  • Design Decisions: Designed a clean interface for conversations. Added quick-reply templates for common queries.

Notification Module

  • Key Features: Alerts for payouts, campaign performance, and system updates.
  • Design Decisions: Prioritised notifications by relevance. Added a filter to view specific types of notifications.

Outcome

The affiliate dashboard design successfully addressed the identified challenges by:

  • Streamlining affiliate operations with an intuitive interface.
  • Enhancing visibility into performance metrics and earnings.
  • Providing a centralized hub for marketing assets and support.

Although specific metrics remain confidential, feedback from stakeholders highlighted the design’s clarity, usability, and effectiveness in improving affiliate satisfaction. The mobile-first approach ensured seamless functionality across devices.

Learnings and Reflections

This project deepened my understanding of:
